Gaming-branchens største uafhængige prisuddeling har udpeget årets bedste spil - se alle vindere her

Den tidligere spiljournalist Geoff Keighley har for alvor forstået at cementere sin position i gaming-branchen, hvor fraværet af store spilkonferencer som E3 i Los Angeles, har givet plads til at han har kunnet positionere fænomener som Opening Night Live og The Game Awards, der efterhånden er blevet branchens helt store prisuddeling.
Og 2023-udgaven af Game Awards løb af stablen i nat.
I et gaming-år der har været præget af kæmpeudgivelser, er det bemærkelsesværdigt, men overhovedet ikke underligt at spillene Baldur's Gate 3 og Alan Wake 2 er løbet med en stor del af æren. Begge spil var nomineret i hver otte kategorier, og Baldur's Gate 3 kunne tage den prestigiøse titel som årets spil (game of the year) sammen med hele fem andre priser, med total 6 awards ud af de 8 nomineringer.
Det er en massiv præstation, for et spil som i den grad har vist sig som en unik udgivelse, af slagsen vi sjældent ser.
Nintendo havde sig også en rigtig god aften, hvor Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom vandt for årets bedste action-adventure spil, Pikmin 4 tog strategititlen mens Super Mario Bros. Wonder tog titlen for årets familiespil.
På de øvrige konsol-ekslusive spiltitler, med massive udgivelser som PlayStations Marvel's Spider-Man 2 og Xbox' Starfield, endte flere nomineringer ikke med direkte sejre. Dog kan PlayStation - ikke overraskende, prale med, at The Last of Us-serien fra HBO tog titlen som årets adaption.
En lige ved og næsten-nominering til danske Team Falcons CS:GO træner Danny "Zonic" Sørensen, blev desværre ikke realiseret.
Game Awards har traditionen tro også været vært for et væld af nye spiltrailere, tjek blandt andet en nostalgisk efterfølger til det måske bedste Dragonball spil nogensinde, en ny gratis DLC til God of War, Hideo Kojimas mystiske nye spil Overdose,
